Kim, Jeremy & Beau
This Grand Cayman family photography session was an extra special one for me because the beautiful mama in these photos also happens to be one of my dearest friends.
Kim and I have known each other for more than 20 years, so I was VERY happy when she decided to follow me to Cayman. Okay, maybe she didn’t technically move here for me, but I’m going with it. 😂
I’ve loved watching Kim build a life here with Jeremy, and I’m so happy that after all these years, we somehow ended up calling the same little Caribbean island home.
And now there’s Beau.
Kim and Jeremy are such great parents, and Beau might genuinely be one of the happiest little toddlers around. We got SO many smiles and laughs during their sunset beach session, although things didn’t exactly start that way.
The minute Beau saw me with my camera, he wanted me to put it away. 😂 Apparently he was under the impression that Daria had come to the beach to PLAY, and this whole taking-photos situation was seriously interfering with our plans.
Luckily, after a little while, I think he forgot the camera was even there. We played, ran around, got in the water and let him do his thing, which is pretty much my favourite way to photograph toddlers anyway.
The result was exactly what I love about family photos in Grand Cayman: lots of movement, real laughs, sandy feet, cuddles and a very happy little boy being completely himself.
And getting to photograph one of my oldest friends with the family she’s created, in a place we now both call home? Pretty special.

Planning Family Photos in Grand Cayman?
If you’re thinking about booking your own Grand Cayman family photography session, don’t worry if you have a toddler who has absolutely zero interest in my plans. Honestly, that’s pretty normal. We’ll play, move around and let them warm up to me and the camera without forcing it.
Some of my favourite photos happen once everyone stops worrying about getting the “perfect” shot and just starts having fun together.
